Geraitrics and Interdisplinary Gerontogical Studies in West Bengal

 

This is for your kind information that under the aegis of University Grants Cmmission the Dept. of Mathematies, Dedt. of Computer Science and Computer Center, Netaji Nagar Day College have undertaken a project to hold a two-day State Level Second Conference on Geriatrics and Interdisciplinary Gerontological Studies in West Bengal.


As a preparatory step, the Organnijing Committee has decided to invite papers from the Colleges, Universities and Institutions of West Bengal. The two-day conference will be held at the campus of Netaji Nagar Day College, Kolkata-700092.


We would feel highly obliged if our colleagus of different Universities, Colleges and Institutions submit their papers on the above subject in the Technical Session.


Elderly people of our society are requested to participate in the said session and also on the second day general session.


The participants are requested to submit their papers as per the following scheduld :

The Schedule

Date of submission of papers : Within 15th June 2007.
Acceptance of Submitted Papers will be communicated by 30th June 2007.
Tentative time of conference : 13th & 14th July, 2007

 


We hope that the colleagues and the elderly people will submit their papers according to the grouping on gerontology and geriatrics which is classified as follows :


(i)Counselling

(ii)Sexuality and Aging

(iii)Spirituality and Aging

(iv)Retirement and

(v)Care Giving

 


This conference will discuss on the title subject and also try to find out the solutions of the above problems (mentioned in the review of the state of art) and direct the following course of actions in our state to work on their behalf, educate others or investigate issues in the field of aging. The institutions and their researched activities include:

 

Research Activities

 

Conducting research on the aging processes and diseases associated with aging such as Alzheimer's disease or osteoporosis.
Analyzing issues related to older persons such as retirement opportunities, income maintenance, the helthcare system and housing alternatives.
Planning, Administering and Evaluating community-based service and service delivery system for older persons.
Teaching courses on College and University students, health care professionals and older adults.
Advocating with or on behalf of older persons before Legislative Bodies or in Institutional settings.
Designing products to meet the special interest and needs of older persons.
Advising business, industry and labour regarding older workers and consumers.

 



After the conference all the slected paper will be published as proceedings of the conference.

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Submitted papers, in Eiglish shold be concisely written and the length should not exceed 15-20 double-spaced, single-sided pages (12 Pt. font, 26 lines per page) excluding tables and figures.


Manuscripts exceeding these guidelines may be returned to the authors. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a 75-200 words abstract and a list of about 5 (five) index termes.

Introductory discussion should be kept to a minimum and material published elsewhere should be referenced, not reproduced. Material not essential to the continuity of the text should be placed in Appendices.
Formulas must be numbered. Figures must be numbered and referred to in the text, with captions typed on separate sheets in the same format as the main text. Tables must be numbered and referred to the text. Each table, with caption, must be typed on a separate sheet. References must be numbered in the order of occurrence and referred to in the text by bracketed numbers. The list of references must be typed on separate sheets, in the same format as the main text, and ordered consecutively. Each reference item should include the author(s), title, Journal name, volume, number, pages, month, year and publisher, as applicable.
Papers that have been published or submitted to other journals, conferences, or books will not be
considered for publication in the proceedings of the conference.
It is the policy of the NNDCCC to own copyright to the technical contributions it publishes. Authors are required to obtain company clearance before submission. Authors may make their papers available on their own www sites, with acknowledgement of the NNDCCC copyright.
